Pembrokeshire FRAME is bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative.

Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 - raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores - being awarded to local community projects.

Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive the cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant.

Pembrokeshire FRAME is one of the groups on the shortlist. The group is currently raising funds to transform a steel framed building within its car park, into an enterprise, sustainability, community and wellbeing centre called Pembrokeshire Pod.

Tesco funding would contribute greatly towards the costs of landscaping and developing a small sensory/memory garden and new car park. Funding would enable them to purchase bird feeders, plants, sensory equipment and tools for their amazing volunteers.

Jenny Sims, director of Pembrokeshire FRAME, said: “We have so many wonderful plans to support disadvantaged individuals at our new centre in Merlins Bridge. Please help us reach our target by voting for FRAME the next time you shop at Tesco’s. Your vote would make such a difference!”

Voting is open in all Tesco stores throughout September and October. Customers will cast their vote using a token given to them at the check-out in store each time they shop.
