Manorbier made the trip to Goodwick on Saturday where the top-of-the-table played the bottom. There was not a great deal between the two teams, but in the end, Manorbier fell to a three goals to one defeat.

With a few new players, Manorbier settled well in the first 20 minutes, with plenty of chances on goal. Dave Bradfield, the Manorbier workhorse, had plenty of attacking opportunities, but failed to hit the back of the net.

Mike Ryder played a blinder in goal for the 'bier, but two goals in a quick succession from two Goodwick attacks stung the Manorbier defence.

Marvin Protheroe played a Bobby Moore-like performance in defence; calm cool and precise. His commitment bubbled through the team to keep them all going in the soggy conditions; it was no Upton Park.

At two goals to nil down at half-time, Manorbier started the second half slowly and a belting goal from Goodwick made it 3-0.

After several muted attacks, Dave Bradfield won the 'bier a penalty which was sent down the middle of the goal by Robbie Thomas to make the final score 3-1.

Overall, it was a positive performance from Manorbier; the spirit amongst the team is high and they look forward to the visit of Hakin tomorrow (Saturday) for another game against one of the top teams in the division. Three points are only around the corner.
