The wedding took place recently at St. Andrew's United Reformed Church, Roath, of Christopher George John Vincent and Katherine Mary Elias.

The bridegroom, a business accountant with the BBC at Llandaff, is the only son of Idwal and Anne Vincent, of Willow Glen, Templeton, while the bride, manager of the Card Centre in Cardiff, is the only daughter of John Elias and Lesley Cass, of Llandudno.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory vintage taffeta gown designed by Maggie Sottero, with crystal embellished bodice and full skirt with accented beaded embellishments which cascaded into a bubble hem.

She was attended as bridesmaid by her friend, Emma Jones, who wore a burgundy gown with matching stole.

Both the bride and bridesmaid carried bouquets of black baccara roses, white roses and fern.

Best man was the bridegroom's lifelong friend, Christopher Buckle, and the ushers were David Elias, bride's brother, who also gave a reading during the service, and Richard Prout, bridegroom's cousin.

During the signing of the register, the bridegroom's aunt, Eunice Prout, delighted guests by singing 'Panis Angelicus'.

The bridal party left the church under an archway of cricket bats held by former team-mates from Lawrenny Cricket Club.

The bride was presented with horseshoes by Rhys O'Mara and Rachael, Robert, Joshua and Jessica Simpkins.

Following the ceremony, a reception for family and friends from various parts of the country was held at New House Hotel, Cardiff. They were joined by colleagues and friends of the couple for a pig roast in the evening.

Following their honeymoon, which is being spent cruising in the Caribbean, the happy couple will be making their home in Cardiff.
