FORMER England cricket captain Mike Gatting will be amongst stars of the cricket world walking the entire Pembrokeshire Coastal Path in aid of Welsh cancer charity Tenovus.

The 186-mile walk, which is being organised by Jeff Evans, of Llanelli, Wales' only professional cricket umpire, will take place from October 20-28, and will feature many other cricket players, including some of the current Glamorgan squad.

"Jeff mentioned the walk he was planning, and I thought it was such a good idea that I wanted to join in," said Mike Gatting. "I'm told that the Coastal Path is spectacular, so I am really looking forward to it.

"Cancer is such a terrible thing, it affects just about everyone's families, so it is a pleasure to be able to do something to raise money to fight this disease."

All money raised from the walk will go towards Tenovus' programmes of cancer research and patient care.

If you would like more details about how you can join the walkers, please contact Tenovus on (01269) 831558.
