COMMEMORATING 60 years since the D-Day landings, Singers Unlimited are presenting 'Forces Sweethearts' at the Torch Theatre, Milford Haven, tomorrow (Saturday), at 7.30 pm.
The show will include songs from yesteryear to cheer out hearts today from vocalists Beryl Korman and Janice Hooper-Roe vocals, with Jennifer Partridge on piano.
Everyone has their own memories of the war and nothing brings them to life more vividly than the songs of the era.
'Forces Sweethearts' features these songs of home and homecoming, as sung by the '40s favourites, great singers like Anne Shelton, Gracie Fields, Jessie Matthews and, of course, Vera Lynn.
The show takes a walk down Memory Lane in the company of these great female vocalists, whose songs inspired the nation and raised spirits in the dark days of the wartime '40s.
They will be joined by some friends from across the water - American pin-ups like Deanna Durbin and the Andrews Sisters and the inimitable tones of Marlene Dietrich! And there will be plenty of opportunity to singalong.
Tickets, priced £10 (£8 concessions), are available from the Torch Theatre Box Office on 01646 695267.
