Festive revellers missing the bright lights of Kilgetty at this time of year will now be able to view the spectacular illumination treat at a home in Pennar.

Peter Thomas was well-known for the Christmas lights displays put on at his home in Kilgetty, raising thousands of pounds for charity along the way. He finally hung up his bulbs two years ago, with the final display seeing his house and garden lit up with over 30,000 Christmas lights.

Now a new festive fund-raiser has taken over the mantle and also Peter's set of lights to add to her already flourishing display.

Crowds have been flocking to see the illuminations erected by Caroline Whitehouse, of Waterwynch, Cross Park, for the past six years, and now she can add Peter's collection to her £8,000 display.

The lights were flicked into life on Monday and all for a good cause, too, with all donations given to be split between the Children's and Cancer Wards at Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.

"I'm glad that the lights have gone to Caroline because the collection is staying in Pembrokeshire and she's doing it for charity too," said Peter, who now lives in Templeton.
