Sir, Many of your readers will have seen posters in local Tesco stores promoting their 2008 charity of the year, Marie Curie Cancer Care. The posters include the line 'To provide more nursing care at home'. I am concerned that this may give the impression that Marie Curie home nursing services are available in Pembrokeshire, which is not the case. Pembrokeshire residents may benefit indirectly from Marie Curie Cancer Care's excellent research, training and public awareness programmes, but Marie Curie do not provide hospice beds or home nursing in the area. Due to the generosity of the people of Pembrokeshire, this county has its own 'Hospice at Home' service, providing expert home nursing care. Our services are available to anyone in the later stages of a life-limiting disease, not just to people with cancer. Anyone interested in receiving home nursing support can contact us directly on 01437 763223, or via their district nurse. This applies to home nursing and our other free services such as equipment loan, bereavement support, aromatherapy and our breast cancer support group.
