Pembrokeshire County Council have confirmed that work will commence on the footway extension between School Lane to Fourwinds Lane on the Penally by-pass next month.

In a report from the ward’s county councillor Jon Preston to members of Penally Community Council, he stated that the work would start in February.

“This is excellent news as it will provide a safe walking route between these two points and onto the existing pathway, which is very frequently used, especially during the holiday season,” said Clr. Preston.

“I must thank Penally resident Mr. Colin Jenkins for approaching PCC and proposing the footpath extension in 2019.

“This is a great example of how one resident can present a case for improvement and bring together the resources to make the change.

“Admittedly, there are times when financial challenges may present a barrier but securing funding can sometime be a case of right project, right time,” he added.
