Lots of people had the 'Courage' to use their 'Brains', listen to their 'Heart' and 'Follow the Yellow Brick Road' to Saundersfoot in September for the auditions for the Saundersfoot Footlights production of 'The Wizard of Oz'. Rehearsals are now well underway with, as usual, both familiar and new faces in the cast. Dorothy is being played by a young, long-standing member of footlights, Cherie Morgan, aided and abetted by Steve Butler (Scarecrow), Will Oliver (Tin Man) and Roger Lees (Lion). Newcomer Aime Roberts is playing the Sorceress of the North, with Iris Morris as her opposite number, the Wicked Witch of the West. With a cast of over 60, including 36 children from seven years up, the show promises to be lively and colourful. They will be supported by a band comprised of young musicians from the county under the expert guidance of musical director, Clive Raymond. Performances of 'The Wizard of Oz' will be in the Regency Hall, Saundersfoot, on Monday to Friday evenings, December 5 to 9, at 7.30 pm, and Saturday afternoon, December 10, at 2.30 pm. Tickets will be available from Evans Newsagents, Saundersfoot, and Reohorn Amusements, Pembroke Dock, from the middle of November.
