Sir,

Heartiest congratulations to Saundersfoot Footlights on their recent production of Barry Manilow's 'Copacabana'. It was superb! Since 1961, I have witnessed and participated in many musical evenings at the Regency Hall, but cannot remember a more lavish, colourful and polished production.

Excellent principal performers and chorus; dazzling costumes; music and dancing of the highest order; outstanding stage sets; spectacular lighting and sound. Congratulations all round.

The months of rehearsal, toil, sweat and tears paid off. Everyone involved can take pride in having brought their talents together in such a great show. Comments expressed by both visitors and residents alike were that one does not expect to find a show of such high calibre in a small seaside village.

The Footlights are a credit to all and add greatly to the prestige of Saundersfoot.

There were doubts about whether 'Copacabana' would attract an audience, but our fears were allayed by good attendances all week.

In these days of rising costs, it is imperative that we put bottoms on seats and we are more than grateful for you, the public's, continued support. Thanks also to the Regency Hall committee's continued encouragement and help.

We also highlight that over many years the Tenby Observer, through its pages, has given us first class coverage of all our productions.

Long may it continue; here's to the next time.

Dave John, President, Saundersfoot Footlights, Saundersfoot.
