A courageous and determined Saundersfoot Sports' second team produced their best performance of the season on Saturday in the aftermath of a serious road traffic collision involving players on their way to the game.
The two-vehicle accident occurred on the A477 at the Redberth junction at 1.50 pm.
One female and one male trapped in separate vehicles were released by firefighters from Tenby and Pembroke Dock using hydraulic cutting equipment.
Four casualties were conveyed to hospital by land ambulance and the air ambulance. One was taken to hospital in Cardiff where he is believed to be in a 'stable' condition.
The four players involved were on their way to the match at Carew.
Their team manager was in a vehicle following and was quickly on scene to administer first aid prior to the arrival of the emergency services.
