PEMBROKESHIRE County Council food safety team has run its second Chartered Institute of Environmental Health intermediate certificate in food hygiene.
The course is part of a training programme aimed at all food handlers within the authority's area.
County councillor Don Evans, vice-chairman of public protection, said: "The programme has proved very successful and the demand for the basic hygiene course in particular has been high."
The CIEH course is aimed at supervisors and managers of food premises who require a more detailed knowledge of food hygiene and safety in order to help them make the right decisions day to day on the workplace so that the health of their customers is protected.
The candidates who successfully passed the CIEH went through 18 hours of lecture based training in January this year followed by a two-hour multiple choice exam.
Of the 12 candidates who sat the CIEH intermediate certificate in food hygiene, two of them - Paul Mear and Richard Knight - had credit marks, which meant that they achieved above 85 percent pass marks.
The successful candidates were: Ann Bettis - Withybush Hospital; Sherrill Boucher - Ashdale Nursing Home; Liz Hainsworth - Bramleys Tea Rooms; Richard Knight - Café Tango; Rowena Lindley - Withybush Hospital; Paul Mear - Tan Y Castell Welshcakes; Claire Morgan - Withybush Hospital; Christine Miller - South Pembrokeshire Hospital; Gina Smithies - Gina Smithies Catering; Merinda White - Ashdale Nursing Home; Pat Williams - Milford House; Sue Williams - St. Davids ASC
