Choristers and guests congregated recently at the Giltar Hotel for Tenby Male Choir's annual dinner. The excellent meal was thoroughly enjoyed by all present and many thanks go to the Giltar for their contribution to a superb evening.
In his address, chairman Terry Evans thanked all for attending, especially old friends, and president and his wife, Roy and Elaine Noble.
He reflected on a highly successful 2013 which was a direct result of the efforts of MD Ian Williams and accompanist Jill Williams (no relation). He thanked various choristers for their major contribution to a very successful year and the committee for its continued support and praised the choristers for their commitment during the choir's busiest year to date.
He looked forward with eager anticipation to 2014 and was sure that it would be at least as successful as 2013.
Bouquets of flowers were presented to Jill and Elaine by newest recruit, Charlie McFee. Two choristers, Denzil Davies and Neville Boughton-Thomas, were presented with framed certificates in recognition of 10 years membership of the choir.
Roy Noble's address was on the theme of camaraderie and belonging, stating that these were attributes Tenby Male Choir held in abundance. His spontaneous wit and one-liners were much enjoyed by a very appreciative audience.
The evening continued at the bar where choristers and friends enjoyed a 'lively' sing-along, with Jill leading on the piano. All in all, a most enjoyable evening.
The choir is always looking for new choristers. Should anyone be interested, please go along to rehearsals which take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at the Tenby and County Club commencing at 8 pm. You will be made most welcome. Also, visitors are always welcome to watch.
