Today (Wednesday) marked the end of an era for a popular cafe situated on Tenby’s Upper Frog Street - which closes its doors after 55 years, leaving behind some fond memories for its owners and visitors alike.
Described as a ‘meeting place for so many over the years’ by one person posting on Facebook - Bali Hai announced that it would be closing on Wednesday, with proprietor Elaine saying a ‘massive thank you’ to all their lovely customers that have come through the doors - often generation after generation of whom a lot have become good friends.
“55 years ago my late father and mother had an ambition to open a cafe in Tenby, which they succeeded in doing in 1964,” stated Elain on a post on Bali Hai’s Facebook page.
“Through their sheer hard work and determination it has stood the test of time.
“Over the years, we have been so fortunate in working with the most wonderful staff that have kept the Bali Hai running and a huge thank you also goes to each and every one of them.
“Once again thank you all for supporting our family business over the years, we would like to think that Bali Hai has given you some fond memories as it most certainly has for us,” she added.
