Folly Farm has welcomed six Humboldt penguin chicks to its state-of-the-art, two-acre enclosure, Penguin Coast. Once the chicks have graduated from the penguin nursery, where they will be hand-reared, they will join the 25 Humboldt penguins and Folly Farm’s latest additions, the four male Macaroni penguins, in the main pool.

The chicks hatched in time to celebrate World Penguin Day and Folly Farm continued the celebration on Saturday with the opportunity to meet Pedro the penguin, enjoy face-painting, a raffle, a waddle race (for humans not penguins), arts and crafts and chick matching games.

All money raised on the day will be donated to NARC (Neptune’s Army of Rubbish Cleaners), a voluntary group of divers with a passion for keeping the underwater environment in Pembrokeshire pristine.
