Pennar Community Hall in Pembroke Dock is pleased to announce that Roger Wilson, a stalwart of the British folk music scene, is playing at the hall on Saturday, November 19.
Roger Wilson is an English folk singer, fiddler, guitarist and songwriter who, he says, abandoned a graphic design career to become a full-time musician in 1986. He was a member of The House Band (1993-98) and later joined Chris Wood and Martin Carthy in performances. He has also worked with Kate Rusby's Concert Party, with Pete Morton in Urban Folk, and with John Tams as part of the National Theatre's War Horse production.
Roger has a website http://www.littlebackroom.com">www.littlebackroom.com and you can also check him out on You Tube.
Roger's gig continues to build on Pennar Hall's reputation as a fantastic live music venue in Pembrokeshire. Past gigs at the hall have included John Tams and Barry Coope, Reg Meuross and Hank Wangford, Pete Morton and Sid Kipper.
Most recently Old Sledge, the American bluegrass band, perfomed a very well received gig there. Roger will be supported by Simon Pettit, a regular member of The Flying Boat Folk Club in Pembroke Dock.
Tickets are £6 each and are available on the door or from Liz Cook on 01646 621811. There is no bar, so please bring your own alcohol.
