On the afternoon of Monday, July 30, when the weather had very accommodatingly and thankfully brightened up considerably from the morning’s heavy rain, Caldey Grange Care Home were very grateful and proud to receive an award for ‘Most Improved Floral Forecourt’ from Mr. Keith Williams.

Receiving the award on behalf of Caldey Grange was Mr. Arwyn Lewis who heads up the team of keen gardeners residing at the home.

Also in the picture are Mrs. Joan Allen, Mrs. Joan Nicholls, Ms. Julie Wainwright Jordan, Mr. Ray Asparassa, Mr. Alfie Roberts with Mr. Cliff Preece affectionately known as ‘Cliffy’, who was the person mainly responsible for all the work that has gone into creating both truly beautiful and thoughtfully-designed gardens, along with Mr. Jason Bridges.

Both garden areas have added so much to the home and have really enriched the lives of all the residents and staff of Caldey Grange. ‘Cliffy’ purchased the beautiful blooms locally from Sandy Hill Garden Centre with the kind assistance of Maureen.

Everyone enjoyed coffee and cake after the ceremony, taking time to truly enjoy the lovely gardens for themselves.
