Firefighters from Tenby were among crews from around Pembrokeshire who attended a fire in a residential flat above the Somerfield Store in Pembroke's Main Street on Wednesday evening. Appliances from Pembroke Dock, Milford and Haverfordwest also attended the blaze which broke out at approximately 8.47 pm. The fire was initially confined to a second floor flat, but spread to the third floor and roof space. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus sets used five jets to extinguish the fire. The brigade's turntable ladder was also used to enable firemen to remove slates from the roof to get into the attic.
