A Flag Day collection was held on August 10 by the Saundersfoot, Tenby and District Committee of Macmillan Cancer Relief.
Collectors in Saundersfoot, Tenby, New Hedges, Kilgetty and St. Florence, raised an impressive total of £1,725.
The event was co-ordinated by Penelope Meyrick, Ann Einon and Betty Thomas, who would all like to thank all the collectors who gave their time, and the public who donated so generously to the cause.
Macmillan Cancer Relief is the UK's largest cancer- care charity. In the UK today, over a million people are living with cancer and four in 10 people will be diagnosed with cancer during their lifetime.
Macmillan not only provides its trademark nurses. It also funds other specialist nurses and doctors, buildings for cancer treatment and care, grants for patients in financial difficulties, educational projects and information services, all of which help make the lives of cancer patients and their families easier and reduce unnecessary fear.
Macmillan Cancer Relief's services are free and are funded entirely through the generosity of supporters.
