Four people and a young child were taken to hospital on Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle accident on the A477 road near Kilgetty.

The accident occurred when two cars, a Peugeot 307 and a Honda Accord, collided at the junction of Dawes Farm between Kingsmoor Common and Broadmoor .

A father and son from St. Nicholas, near Cardiff, who had been travelling in the Honda vehicle, had to be cut free by fire brigade personnel, before being conveyed to West Wales General Hospital, Carmarthen, by ambulance for treatment. They were detained overnight.

The occupants of the other vehicle, a man, his wife and two-year-old child from Oxford were also injured.

The man sustained head injuries and was taken to Withybush Hospital, Haverfordwest, as were his wife who suffered a broken wrist and the child, who was slightly hurt.

Police, ambulance crews and fire appliances from Tenby, Narberth and the emergency tender from Haverfordwest attended and the road was closed for approximately two hours while the emergency services dealt with the accident.
