Sir, I just thought I would let you know that I heard my first cuckoo call on May 5, at 11.45 am, whilst taking the family for a walk by Hoyles Mouth Cave, Penally. I regularly read your paper and I have not noticed anybody mentioning this as yet this year. Am I the first, or can one of your readers put claim to an earlier hearing.
