The 2016 cruise season at the Port of Milford Haven got underway this week with the visit of the Silver Explorer. Operated by Silversea Cruises, the vessel arrived in Pembroke Port on Wednesday moring. Some 108m in length, and weighing 6,130 tonnes she could accommodate 150 passengers, who were met by a welcoming party, comprising, from left, Clr. Pam George, Clr. Maureen Colgan, Mayor, Clr. Wynne Evans, chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Natalie Britton, director of port operations, and town crier Rose Blackburn. Next Tuesday, May 17, a second ship, Hapag Lloyd Cruises vessel Europa, is due to arrive in Milford Haven as part of a two-week cruise from Hamburg to Kiel.
