A local firework company has rocketed to great success at a recent British championships.

Westcoast Fireworks, of Narberth, took part in the British Musical Firework Championships held in Southport, near Liverpool, recently, managing to come away with the winning award, by impressing judges with their spectacular show.

"We were up against some of the biggest firework companies in the UK, so for a relatively young business like ourselves we're delighted with the achievement," said Chris Allen, of Westcoast.

The team produced a 16 - 18 minute colourful display of fireworks set to music which included Darius's chart-topper 'Colourblind,' as well as some classical offerings and 'Lord of the Dance.'

The people of Pembrokeshire will get to enjoy one of the Westcoast Fireworks award-winning shows, when they brighten up the skies to celebrate Bonfire Night at Whitland's display in the town's Park Dr. Owen fields, on Friday, November 4. at 7.30 pm.
