The owners of a farm shop situated just outside of Saundersfoot, have been left devastated after a fire left the premises gutted.
The Four Seasons florist, greengrocer and delicatessen located on Narberth Road, and owned by Hugh Scale and his family caught fire on Thursday night (November 11) and sadly wasn’t able to be saved.
Posting on the Four Seasons Facebook page, the family stated: “Us as a family are in absolute shock, disbelief and are completely heart broken.
“Unfortunately our farm shop caught on fire and wasn’t able to be saved, we’re just glad that luckily no one was inside or injured!
“To all our customers we just want to say how much we appreciate your support over the years and hopefully years to come!
“We as a family don’t plan on giving up and will be doing our best to keep you all topped up with your fresh produce.”
The family also have a sister farm shop and florist just opposite Tenby’s town walls on Upper Park Road.
A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 9.53 pm on Thursday, November 11, Joint Fire Control received the first call to a fire at a commercial property in Narberth Road, Saundersfoot.
“Crews from Tenby, Narberth, Haverfordwest and Pembroke Dock were deployed to the incident.
“Crews extinguished the fire using eight breathing apparatus, three main jets, three hose reel jets, five thermal imaging cameras and a ground monitor. A turn table ladder from Haverfordwest was also deployed and used as a water tower at the incident.
“Police and Western Power were also in attendance. The Fire Service left the incident at 4.21 am.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
FOOTNOTE - Giving an update on Tuesday (November 16) to customers, the farm shop posted on their Facebook page: “After Four Seasons being in the family for the last 39 years we couldn’t just sit back and let it all go, so we’ve had a large marque put up today and have got stock and equipment coming over the next few days!
“We plan to be ready to open to the public from this Saturday.
“We will be opening with a reduced amount of stock, but we will have all the essentials, some goodies, flowers and hampers all available!
“We can’t thank everyone enough for all of the support the last five days!” they added.
