A local man was found guilty at Haverfordwest court recently of stealing monies from the collection box at Tenby's new lifeboat station.
Eighteen-year-old Jamie Lee William, of Tenby, stole the collection money generously donated by considerate members of the public, who had intended the money to go towards the RNLI in an effort to assist them in saving lives.
After appearing in court last month, Mr. William was fined £100, with costs of £50, and was ordered to pay compensation of £47.
Following the offence, the RNLI are considering removing the box during the evenings and replacing it in the morning to avoid further thefts, which will obviously have an impact on the money they are able to collect.
