Narberth Athletic had an excellent win at home to the strong Swansea based Penlan team who had travelled to the Lewis Lloyd ground after beating Dunvant in the previous Naylor Drainage League fixture.
The visitors put the Otters under pressure during the first 15 minutes, but the Narberth defence held firm.
The first Narberth try came from a counter-attack inside their own 22 when centre Dafydd Evans broke clear. He kicked ahead and won the race for the touchdown to score a great individual try converted by outside-half Richard Morris.
Morris added a penalty and then prop Martin Bowen crossed for a try, again converted by Richard Morris.
Just before half-time, Stephen Williams kicked a penalty for Penlan.
At the start of the second half, winger Oliver Sheldrake, in his first game after a long lay-off through injury, increased the lead for the Otters with a try converted by Richard Morris, but lock forward Martin Dobbs struck back with an unconverted try for the visitors.
Although the visitors made an all out bid to get back into the game, the Otters kept them at bay through some resolute tackling. In fact, the defensive qualities displayed by the Otters in this match provided the platform for victory.
It was a first class all-round performance by the Otters. Number eight Alex Hill was nominated man-of-the-match by the team management and centre Dafydd Evans also had an excellent game.
