The Pembrokeshire Coast National Park Authority is encouraging people to experience a new adventure during National Parks Week 2016, which takes place between Monday, July 25 and Sunday July 31.
National Parks Week is the annual celebration of the UK’s 15 National Parks - Britain’s breathing spaces.
National Park Authority chairman, Clr. Mike James, said: “With a range of adventure-themed activities and events taking place at the authority’s three visitor attractions and across the National Park, there has been no better time to experience something new on the Pembrokeshire coast.
“Whether you’re a visitor to the area or a local resident there is something new for everyone to experience. You could take a short stroll in a place you’ve never visited before or experience Pembrokeshire’s fascinating past at Castell Henllys or Carew Castle.”
Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, Castell Henllys Iron Age Village and Oriel y Parc Gallery and Visitor Centre all have a range of activities suitable for the whole family.
Carew Castle will host a Robin Hood Adventure with a range of activities taking place from 11 am - 4 pm, Monday, July 25 – Friday, July 29.
Castell Henllys will be inviting you to sit around the fire and listen to Tales of Adventure from the distant past with local storytellers on Thursday, July 28, at 11 am and 2 pm.
Oriel y Parc will be hosting a 100 years of Roald Dahl arty workshop, 1 - 3 pm on Tuesday, July 26. There will be three creative challenges to inspire your imagination, each based on a different Roald Dahl story.
The adventure doesn’t stop there, with many more events such as National Park ranger-led walks and Seashore Safaris taking place across the Pembrokeshire coast.
Kathryn Cook, UK director for National Parks UK, added: “Remember that adventure is what you make it!
“Our wonderfully diverse National Parks offer a great range of events and activities - there really is something for everyone to enjoy. So whether you’re a thrill seeker or are looking for something a little less energetic we encourage you to get out and be a part of the incredible landscapes that make this country so unique.”
