Shalom House Palliative Care Unit, St David's, has been given a financial boost of £3,226 thanks to the Cambrian Lodge of Freemasons.

The presentation was made to Margaret Burnett MBE, founder and trustee of Shalom House, by Chris Harding, Worshipful Master of the Cambrian Lodge.

Thanking Mr. Harding, Mr. Mal Edwards, and Lodge members, Margaret said: "We are very grateful to the Masonic Lodge for all its hard work in raising money for local charities such as Shalom House, which is open to patients of all ages, from all over the county. The money will be used for patients' care.

"Since its opening, Shalom has supported 80 adults with life-limiting illnesses and their families. The vision for the future is to provide overnight respite care at Shalom's specially adapted unit. Dedicated staff and management are working tirelessly towards this goal."
