Following a successful film screening at Tenby Harbour last week, event organisers Films4Tenby have said the evening showed that there's a real appetite in the town for the experience of an outdoor cinema.

The pop-up cinema night, run by Films4Tenby in conjunction with Rooms With a View, presented an outdooor screening of film classic Jaws on Wednesday night, with plenty of film-goers pulling up a deck-chair to enjoy the experience.

"The evening was a great success," said Films4Tenby's Abigail Neal

"The warm balmy evening helped bring out the crowds. It was so popular, with up to 200 people turning out for the screening. We ran out of seats, and in the end it was standing room only at the back, but no-one seemed to mind.

"The atmosphere of showing the film down in the harbour as the tide came in was electrifying - to hear the boats clinking in the background while the shark catchers set out to sea added an extra thrill of tension to the film.

"My best moment was the audience spontaneously applauding at the climax to the film when Roy Scheider puts paid to his nemesis," she continued.

Films4Tenby would like to thank Will and the deck-chair boys, Matt Broadhurst, Dingle Marquee Hire, Harbour Cafe, Tenby Sailing Club, John Blair and Susie at Tenbyfishing.co.uk for the loan of the shark head and also the residents of Tenby Harbour.

"The success of the evening has shown there's a real appetite in Tenby for the experience of an outdoor cinema, and we will be back soon - we promise!" added Abigail.
