The Dylan Thomas film The Edge of Love is boosting visits to Welsh poet's boathouse home at Laugharne.

Staring Keira Knightley and Welsh actor Matthew Rhys as Dylan, the film has sparked a stampede to the boathouse which regularly pulls 30,000 visitors a year.

County principal arts officer Eleri Retallick said the Carmarthenshire council run tourist attraction is benefiting from the box office interest in Dylan. Mrs. Retallick said: "The film being shown in cinemas all over the country this summer has reawakened interest in Dylan's story, especially his world-famous boathouse home at Langharne. "The boathouse has always drawn visitors from all over the world, but the film has refired enthusiastic interest closer to home, with summer visitors almost doubling."

The boathouse is open seven days a week 10 am - 5 pm.
