Sir, I write in reply to Neil Westerman's letter of February 15, asking what our AMs will do to improve train services in Pembrokeshire. I had highlighted the fact that First Great Western came last in a passenger satisfaction league table with just 74 per cent of their clients satisfied with their journeys compared to a national average of 81 per cent. I have always fought for better services in Pembrokeshire and less marginalisation of our county and will continue to do so. I have been pressing the Labour-Plaid administration to improve rail services for some time. Last week, I asked the First Minister in the Senedd whether he had any plans to expand train services in Pembrokeshire. I was told that a new transport strategy that will include West Wales will be published in the summer and a more specific plan will be published a few months thereafter. I would point out that both Angela Burns, my South Pembrokeshire counterpart, and myself are Conservative members of the Welsh Assembly and as such are in opposition. The Plaid Cymru - Labour alliance holds the responsibility to improve train services and while I am in opposition I shall strive to hold them to account and improve our transport links. Paul Davies AM
