While much of Britain was frost-bound and covered in snow, Tenby was in the middle of enjoying a mild winter.

Roared on by their supporters, Tenby defied torrential rain and a bog-like pitch - conditions expected to favour the confident league leaders - to subdue completely the Quins and win by a goal and a try to nil. Roddy Thomas scored Tenby’s first try, with Jeff Powling converting. Lloyd Evans scored the second.
