Narberth Rural Council had gambled with ratepayers money in paying £25,000 an acre for land at the Strand and now had to erect a five-storey block of flats to recoup their money, claimed Clr. W. C. E. Callen.

A large crowd attended Kilgetty’s eighth annual carnival and sports. The chairman, Mr. C. A. John, welcomed everyone and introduced Dr. O. B. Ryland, who crowned the queen and officially opened the carnival. A grand display was given by Pembrokeshire police dogs and a weight-lifting competition was performed by Jim Codd and group.
Victrix Ludorum at Narberth County Primary School Sports was Delyth Nicholas, with Neil Rossiter as Victor Ludorum. Winners of an exciting inter-house competition were Sparrows, followed by Magpies and Blackbirds.
