Pembrokeshire’s library service was understaffed. According to the report of the Working Party on Standards of Public Library Services, it should have a staff of 38, whereas there was a staff of 24 covering both the county library service and the schools’ library service.

Teenagers, who protested that there was no entertainment in Tenby, were to be asked to assist in clearing stones from the North Beach. Local organisations were also to be asked to help.

Tenby Rotary Club’s new president, Mr. Fred Brenchley, was installed in office at a dinner held at the Lion Hotel.

St. Mary’s Church, Tenby, was packed for the second summer music recital. Extra chairs had to be placed in the aisles to accommodate the congregation. The choir was the famous Morriston Orpheus who gave an outstanding performance.

A suggestion that members of Tenby Borough Council should meet only once during August was rejected at a meeting of the general purposes committee.
