April 29, 1966: Important steps to further the comprehensive system of education in Pembrokeshire were taken at a special meeting of the county education committee. The committee decided to establish a junior comprehensive school at Narberth, to introduce comprehensive education into the Haverfordwest Secondary School district and to do away with the 11-plus examination for the whole of the county with effect from the school year 1967-68.

Thursday, May 12, was election day in Tenby and there promised to be keen competition for the vacant seats on the Borough Council. When nominations closed, there were nine nominations for four seats. The nominations were: Mr. Charles Edward Birt, Mrs. Jessica Louisa Cort, Mr. Wallace Dunmall Davies, Mr. Morgan Bowen Eastlake, Mr. Frederick Charles Fry, Mr. Gwilym Ellis Jones, Mr. Hector Horatio Burley Lee, Mrs. Joan Gwenllian Lee, Mr. Basil Vaughan Rees.
