February 11, 2016: Retiring president of Saundersfoot Chamber of Trade, Mr. Harold Davies, was presented with a barometer at the annual dinner by his successor, Mr. John Allen. The gift was in recognition of Mr. Davies’s many years work for the chamber, formerly as hon. secretary and in recent years as president.

Two dog breeders in the Narberth area again figured among winners at Crufts championship dog show, namely Mrs. G. D. Evans, of Lampeter Velfrey, and Mr. W. E. Beynon, of Narberth.

To celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the Women’s Institute movement, Kilgetty WI presented a teak garden seat to Sunnybank Old People’s Home.

Narberth’s Queen’s Hall was packed with spectators to see local boxers impress with their skills. Four members of the Narberth Boxing Club won their bouts and one had to retire with a nose bleed. Martin Phillips, Narberth’s international lightweight, gave a very impressive performance against Tumble opponent Alan Jones.

Tenby Museum had 38,939 visitors in 1965, considerably more (almost 6,000) than the previous highest figures in 1962.
