Fewer buildings have been bought and sold by Pembrokeshire County Council over recent months due to Covid-19.

Cabinet member for finance Clr. Bob Kilmister said that the numbers of acquisitions and disposals had been lower during April to September as a report on transactions over £100,000 was discussed on November 2.

The report to cabinet states that the only acquisition was 7 Coronation Avenue in Haverfordwest was bought by the Housing Revenue Account for £106,000 in May.

Properties disposed of included a property at Withybush which was sold for £578,000 in April, which members were told was part of the “wider food park development,” a joint venture between the Welsh Government and the council.

Director of communities Dr Steven Jones added that it was a “income generating property” which would usually see the money received ring-fenced for another such property and it was recommended that this receipt be ring-fenced for food park infrastructure.

Also sold were two ‘right to buy’ properties, one in Church Road, Haverfordwest and the other at Dan yr Eglwys, New Moat, generating £126,000 and £102,000 respectively.

“During the reporting period there have been 2 other acquisitions at less than £100,000 per transaction, with a total value of £112,600 and 2 disposals with a total value of £117,500,” the six monthly report adds.
