On Friday, December 3 the Club was able to take up a long awaited trip. Two years ago the Friendship Club had organised a Festive Trip to London, only for it to be postponed by Covid! On arrival at the Hilton Hotel members and friends had a buffet lunch, and put their cases into the Left Luggage Room. The coach then whisked them to Kew Gardens where they spent time “flying fast” around the Christmas Lights Trail, not wanting to miss any of the wonderous Christmas Light Displays. Needless to say, all arrived back on the coach very tired and then it was off into the City centre to see the street lights for a very jovial and informative city tour by Joe, the driver, before arriving back at the hotel about 11 pm, totally shattered!
The following day after breakfast the members and friends were off again to visit Windsor with a tour around the castle, and free time to explore the town. Everyone was glad to do it at a slower pace. Some members were able to meet up with family that lived in the area. On Sunday, after another hearty breakfast, the coach load headed home with a stop over in Oxford for lunch and a quick look around, arriving back in Tenby early evening. The weather for the whole trip was marvellous.
The Club thanks the driver who had to do several crosscountry detours because of the disruption on the M4. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he looked after everyone very well. Also thanks are due to Nicola and all the team at Edwards Coach Holidays, Llamsamlet.
