There was plenty of festive fun to be found at the De Valence Pavilion recently when Tenby Round Table hosted its 51st annual Senior Citizens Christmas dinner.
Nearly 200 people enjoyed a traditional three-course meal, supplied by Matthew Ronowitz and his staff at The Qube Catering, while Tenby Tablers, headed by chairman Jonathan Webb, were on hand all evening to ensure the Yuletide merriment kept flowing.
Guests, including the Mayor of Tenby, Clr. Paul Rapi, Deputy Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, and Round Table president, Andrew Davies, were entertained by Tenby Under Nines football team carollers, St. Mary’s Church choir and, Tenby’s own indomitable Mr. Entertainment, Laurie Dale, before Father Christmas arrived to help draw the free raffle for prizes generously donated by a host of local businesses.
Father Christmas also received a special present himself when chairman Jonathan presented him with a cheque for £700 towards his fundraising for Ward 10, Withybush Hospital.
The evening concluded with Laurie and Tablers in fine voice for the traditional rendition of ‘Strollin’.
The event is completely financed by funds raised by Tenby Round Table at their two annual Summer Spectaculars and their October Beer Festival and Tablers are very grateful to everyone who continues to support these events.
Tablers are also very grateful to all those who assisted in the staging of the Christmas dinner, including Tenby (DVP) Trust, Tenby Town Council, all at The Qube, Fern Lewis, of Café Pura, Laurie Dale, St. Mary’s Church choir, Jo Craig and the Under Nines carollers (and their parents), Rob Mayhew and all the local businesses for their support.
