THE third Tenby Arts Festival open art competition has proved to be the most successful yet.
With the incentive of a £500 first prize together with further prizes generously donated by Emrys Art Supplies, Derwent (the Cumberland Pencil Company), Unison Pastels, Winsor and Newton, Daler Rowney, Hahnemule fine art paper, Schminke, Da Vinci, Pro Arte, the Society for All Artists and Art Matters, the quality of the entries was very high.
The judges who carried out the monumental task of selecting work for the exhibition were David Morgan, of High Seas Gallery in Tenby, Naomi Tydeman, fresh from her Cob Lane gallery in Tenby, artist Arthur Lewis and festival committee member, Marion Hutton.
The exhibition of selected work will open at Art Matters in South Parade, Tenby, tomorrow (Saturday), and will continue until October 9.
The exhibition opens at 10 am, with the whole day for viewing before the names of the prize winners are announced at 6 pm.
Everyone can take part in the selection for the people's prize that will be awarded at the end of the exhibition to the artist whose work receives the most votes from visitors to the exhibition. All the paintings are for sale.
