Tenby Blues Festival returned over the weekend of November 12 with festival goers returning to the seaside town to enjoy three days of mighty fine acoustic and electric music in over 20 venues.
The weather was beautiful, and the sense of community and fun was palpable.
The main focus was, as usual, on the De Valence stage and Tenby United Rugby Club’s acoustic stage where some jaw dropping performances were seen and heard.
The four headliners of the concerts – Kyla Brox, Errol Linton, Georgia Van Etten, and Kat Pearson were amazing.
Many of the support acts on each of the nights nearly stole their thunder though - from the funky Blues of The Cinelli Brother on Saturday to Irishman Dom Martin who encored with a Rory Gallagher song on Sunday that nearly removed the newly renovated roof!
As usual Welsh artists were prominent – the festival really likes to support them.
Bella Collins, superb as always, debuted her brilliant new band, and James Oliver, dubbed by the MC as ‘the Tommy Cooper of the Telecaster’, proved to be undoubtedly the UK’s titan of twang.
Of course the legendary Blues Trail was busy all weekend as happy people, so pleased to be back, wandered excitedly around the many pubs, hotels, and cafes that featured a bewildering variety of music.
The Blues Festival will return next year on November 18 to 20.
