Manorbier, Sageston and St. Florence schools took part in the Welston Challenge as part of the Darwin Science Festival 2007.

The schools were invited to the grounds of a local manor house in Milton to take part in a round robin of events.

Pond dipping, woodland walks and a hands-on microscope session in research labs filled the day. Manorbier School won the Welston Challenge by finding the most diverse species at the pond dipping workshop. This year's festival was sponsored by South Hook LNG.

Festival co-ordinator Marten Lewis would like to thank Professor Tony Campbell, Tony Lacey, and Peter Brown for leading the workshops and all the schools for a great day.
