The old lifeboat station next to the Dennis Café on Castle Beach will be opening for film screenings during the Rooms with a View weekend in March.

This Victorian lifeboat station was one of at least five lifeboat stations Tenby has had, and was used until 1905. The building has been used for many things since then, but this is believed to be the first time films will be shown there.

On Saturday, March 16, at 10.30 am, a short animation for the little ones will be shown, based on the Oliver Jeffers book, 'Lost and Found.'

This will be followed by 'Ponyo', which will delight young children with its beautiful animation. Ponyo is a little fish who, to the fury of the wizard master, escapes the domain of the sea and befriends a lonely little boy. Hiyo Miyazaki is well known for his distinctive hand-drawn animations, and this is no exception, with all the filmmaker's characteristic unworldiness and charm.

Saturday evening sees, for all horror fans out there, a screening of 'The Fog' in this atmospheric location, John Carpenter's classic 1980's version is set in a northern Californian fishing town built over an old leper colony - the scene for a killer fog...

At 2 pm on Sunday, March 17, 'Riding Giants' is being shown. This is a documentary about this history and legends of surf culture, and is a must-see for anyone involved in or interested in surfing.

So, take this chance to see some nautical films in a truly unique location - definitely a 'Room with a View,' and probably as near to the sea as these films have ever been shown!
