The society behind a project to restore a Tenby Lugger want to hold a further meeting with the town council to gather feedback from the local community.

A letter from West Wales Maritime Heritage Society chairman, Rev. David Reed, came before councillors at their meeting on Tuesday night, to say that the organisation was now in discussion with PAVS and other bodies regarding sourcing funding to carry out the restoration of the Tenby Lugger.

"An important factor in the bid is to include plans for the vessel's future after completion of the work.

"We have discussed a number of possibilities in committee, but since Tenby Town Council has expressed interest and support, we feel that we would like to hear how the local community feels," wrote Rev. Reed.

Clr. Mrs. Julie Evans told members that the Surflink Club had contacted the society with the possibility of housing the vessel at South Beach, while Clr. Lawrence Blackhall said that they could offer the society the De Valence café to hold any public consultations or house an exhibition on the work to restore the lugger.
