FBM Holidays are delighted to have won the inaugural award for ‘Best Dog-Friendly Marketing Campaign’ at the Pembrokeshire Tourism Dog Friendly Awards held recently at Slebech Park.

Having been narrowed down to 3 main contenders for the award, FBM Holidays walked away with the prize which was awarded after consideration from the panel, regarding the effectiveness and reach of continued marketing campaigns which promote Pembrokeshire as a dog-friendly tourism destination.

FBM Holidays have a long-standing commitment to bringing dog-friendly holiday homes to their current portfolio, and now over 20 per cent of all holiday homes they promote accepting dogs or pets. With around half of every UK household now owning a pet or dog, the market and appetite for dog-friendliness has never been greater.

FBM Holidays works with owners to cultivate new properties as dog-friendly, and as such as contributed to an influx of bookings for owners who do allow canine companions to come on holiday as well.

Marketing Executive from FBM Holidays, Thom James said: “FBM Holidays are extremely proud to win this award in recognition for the effort we have put in over the last few years.”

“Dogs and pets are part of the makeup of many families now. And we know from the numbers we have that allowing a dog in your holiday home increases bookings by up to 15 per cent on average, with some properties seeing nearly 40 per cent increases year-on-year after starting to accept dogs.”

The awards were held for only the second time in 2018, with the award for Marketing Campaign making its first appearance. The awards were held in the grounds of Slebech Park, Haverfordwest by Pembrokeshire Tourism and sponsored by Burns Pet Nutrition.

FBM will continue to market the dog-friendly properties they have all over West Wales, in Pembrokeshire, Ceredigion and Carmarthenshire and aim to bring even more dog-friendly rentals to the market in 2019.
