Regular rail passengers in West Wales and visiting tourists to the coast are set to benefit from faster journey times, following the launch of a new December timetable by Arriva Trains Wales.

The new timetable will improve journey times by 15 minutes on some train services on the Swansea - Pembroke Dock and Swansea - Milford Haven routes via Carmarthen.

Head of marketing for Arriva Trains Wales, Vanessa Schotes, explained the changes: "We've seen consistent growth in passenger numbers in recent years on these routes. These changes to the timetable are part of a long-term series of commitments we are making to customers across our entire Welsh Network, to improve our services across Wales."

The introduction of the faster train service to West Wales is part of a series of changes which aim to improve performance, increase seating capacity and offer more journey opportunities across key destinations on the rail network in Wales and the English border area.
