Saundersfoot CP School is holding a fashion show and auction on Saturday, October 18, in the new Regency Hall in Saundersfoot. The fashion show is supported by Christkindl (Saundersfoot), Jago (Narberth and Tenby) and White Bride and Boutique (Narberth), with hair by Andrew Price (Tenby). Models include staff, parents, pupils and people from the community. This will be a fully-packed evening with a fashion-themed art exhibition by the school art club, an eco fashion show with designs modelled by some of the pupils, boutique and bridal catwalk shows and a fantastic raffle and auction. Items to be raffled and auctioned include a signed Swansea City football shirt, a signed Coronation Street cast photo, vouchers for golf sessions, Sunday lunch vouchers and hotel meals and overnight stays. There are also vouchers for local attractions and lots of other exciting and different things to win and bid for. Tickets are being sold from the Shoreline Coffee Shop on the Strand in Saundersfoot and also from the school office. They are £10 each and include a glass of Bucks Fizz on arrival and a goodie bag designed by the school enterprise club. This promises to be a great night out and all money raised will go towards funding projects within the school. To support school projects, so far during 2014 the school has held an Easter bingo and a summer fete. In addition to this, they had a team of runners in the Tenby 10k run last year and ran this again this year in Tenby on July 27, winning the team shield for the second year running. The school also had a large team of FOSS, parents and staff in the 30th Saundersfoot New Year's Day Swim and raised over £1,000. The school also has a staff member and several parents who are competing in the Ironman Wales 2014 challenge and have been running 'Copperman' since May, which is collecting copper coins, and the final total of the money raised will be announced at the event on the 18th. The money raised at these type of events is used to assist the school to create additional facilities and because of the work FOSS has done over the past couple of years, they have been able to purchase ICT equipment, support the installation of a multi use games area and establish an electronic library system. All of the projects undertaken are funded by FOSS and are decided upon jointly between staff, pupils, schools council and FOSS.
