Sir,
It really was tremendous to see such a fantastic response and it makes all the effort very worthwhile. Thanks to you all.
We would like to thank the following whose efforts all contributed to the enjoyable event - everyone at Tenby RFC, particularly Stephen and Martin Vickery for looking after the bonfire, PC Nigel Lewis and his neighbourhood policing colleagues, including the Special Constables for their quiet and efficient work such as reuniting a lost child with their parents, and a lost wallet with its owner (thanks also to the honest young girls who handed it in to the police), the St John Ambulance Brigade, the ladies of Tenby Ladies Circle, who provided hot drinks and refreshments, Gillian and Sally from Tenby's Red Cross shop for running a tombola and, of course, everyone else who assisted to make the event so enjoyable.
Sincere thanks are also due to the Tenby Observer, and other local media, for their excellent and invaluable support in publicising the event, and, of course, we would like to thank our sponsor for the evening, the Pembroke Refinery of the Valero Energy Corporation, whose backing for our event underlined their commitment to readily support the community.
As a result of the success of our Bonfire and Firework event and also the successful summer fundraising events, the Rotary Club will be able to support many charities and good causes in the year ahead, and we thank again everyone who has supported all these events to allow this to happen.
Rotarian Alan Jones,
President,
The Rotary Club of Tenby.
