A family’s support for the Wales Air Ambulance charity has been invaluable over the past years.

The Whitby family from Broadhaven have been fund-raising tirelessly since their daughter Jess was airlifted from the scene of an accident from which she has recovered remarkably well.

They have raised thousands of pounds over the years in appreciation and their latest event was at the Broadhaven Community Hall where they held a dance and raffle, ‘The Angel Flight Night’, raising £1,260.

“The average cost of one flight is £1,500,” said Tony Key, the Air Ambulance co-ordinator for Pembrokeshire, “so this recent contribution will save the life of someone else who needs our help.”

The picture shows Nicky Whitby and her daughter Jess with grandmother Joyce, who has become a volunteer for the charity.

They can be seen handing the cheque to Tony Key at Withybush Air Field.

Anyone wishing to help the charity can find details on the website www.walesairambulance.com or contact Tony on 07817 961207 for more details.

Volunteers are required in the Tenby and Saundersfoot area.
