The family of a missing Gwent man, who disappeared while on a golfing holiday in Tenby seven years ago, say they will never give up hope of finding him.

Monday marked the seventh anniversary of the disappearance of James Nutley, who was 25-years-old when he went missing on October 24, 2004, after he had been out in the resort with friends at a pub.

James left his friends to head back to the Giltar Hotel, on The Esplanade, at 11.40 pm, and was spotted on CCTV at 11.57 pm as he crossed the road towards the Atlantic Hotel, but has not been seen since.

Despite an intensive search of the coastline and repeated appeals for information, the mystery of the former Chepstow Comprehensive pupil's disappearance remains unsolved.

His parents, Jeff and Catherine Nutley, of Caldicot, have ruled out having their son declared legally dead, despite now being entitled to do so.

"The police review it every so often, but unless something turns up or someone comes forward, we are in limbo. It's an absolute mystery," said Jeff, with his wife Catherine adding: "A friend asked us if we were going to have a memorial for him this year, but I don't think I could do it. I don't see why we should, in some cases people turn up, we just don't know.

"It would be quite easy to say we can't go on like this, but there is nothing else we can do. We can't give up, we have got to keep going, as difficult as it is," she continued.

Since their son's disappearance, the couple have distributed hundreds of posters, highlighted James's case on television programmes and even visited a psychic in a bid to find him, but to no avail.

On Sunday, the pair revisited Tenby, as they do every year on James's birthday and the anniversary of his disappearance.

Joined by family and friends, they walked the route he would have taken that night.

James is described as being 6ft 2in, with brown hair and was last seen wearing a white top with blue sleeves and blue jeans.
